Laura Harvey, Director

The beginning of Dot to Dot

From a young age, Laura knew it took only one person to believe in you for great change to happen. Having parents who work with children and care about their progress inspired Laura to take steps to extend their passion.

As a swimming teacher Laura began working with children with disabilities so at a young age she knew, helping children was something she was interested in  pursuing.

After working as a Speech Pathologist Laura extended herself to become a Key Worker, learning about sensory needs, behaviour and emotional regulation. This gave her a holistic perspective which she cherishes.

In this time, Laura's philosophy of intervention expanded and she discovered the value of believing in the child and their family. Most importantly she concluded, there is no right or wrong approach. It was about understanding the child's perspective and learning how they need to learn.

Laura has studied; language development, social interactions, picky eating, speech sound disorders, sensory processing, behaviour support strategies, stuttering, and alternative communication methods (e.g. devices). Laura continues to expand her knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and meeting new children every day.

Laura has training in the following programs:
